Course Conversion

Here at Acclaim Handling, our Forklift Training Department are a dedicated and professional team that takes pride in having trained over 700 RTITB registered Instructors, as well as many thousands of Fork Lift Truck Operators. With our dedicated full-time trainers, we administer all types of forklift truck and equipment training. These can be 5-day Beginner courses to Driver Assessments and Fork Lift Truck Instructor courses complying exactly to industry standards. All courses are RTITB registered and approved by the joint committee of industry training boards and recognised by the HSE, HSA and HSENI. This means they comply fully for both theoretical and practical training with the Health & Safety executive approved code of practice.

Conversion Candidates (3 or 5 Day)

This instructor training conversion course has been designed to provide an entry route to RTITB registration, for experienced lift truck operator instructors who have qualified by one of the following means:

  • Currently registered via one of these accrediting bodies; AITT, ITSSAR, NPORS – (or expired up to a maximum of 12 months ago)
  • Currently registered as an RTITB LGV/ICI instructor
  • Military/Fire Service with a suitable, current and appropriate material handling instructor qualification
  • Currently registered as an IPAF instructor, LANTRA instructor, CITB/Construction Skills instructor, ALLMI instructor, LEEA instructor, PASMA instructor,

Or who hold one of the following qualifications:

  • ROSPA international diploma in advanced training
  • ROSPA international master instructor
  • PTLLS
  • CTLLS
  • DTLLS
  • Award in Education & Training

All candidates for the instructor training conversion must also have a certificate of basic operating skills issued within the last 12 months for counterbalance/reach truck operation. The duration of this conversion course is variable 3 days or 5 days depending upon the type previous qualification and experience. To attend the 3 day course, you must have at least 12 years experience as an instructor. Please Note: All candidates submitted for examination must provide documentary evidence of their instructor qualification. Candidates holding the previously listed qualifications that have expired over 12 months ago or are not current will need to attend a 10-12 Day Beginner instructor course instead.
