Attachments can usually be supplied with the machine, so tell us what you need to lift rather than only which truck you have in mind. If you are not sure which type of machine the job needs, the machine finder asks a few questions and points you to it. Manual equipment such as pallet trucks is sold through our online shop.

Forklift hire cost per day, week and month
The weekly rate each type of machine starts at. All prices are ex VAT. Reach truck hire also starts at £100 a week.

Hire a machine for a single day and the minimum charge is one week at the weekly rate, so a one day hire and a five day hire cost the same. Beyond that the rate steps down as the period lengthens. Transport is charged separately.

Capacity and mast
A 2.5 tonne counterbalance is not priced like a 5 tonne machine or a triplex mast.

Power source
Electric machines need charging arrangements; diesel and LPG do not.

Length of hire
The weekly rate falls as the period extends, and monthly is cheaper again.

Transport is charged separately, by the distance from the nearest of our depots.

Get a price for your job
Tell us what you are lifting, how heavy it is, how high it goes, whether the work is indoors or out, and how long you need the machine. That is usually enough to specify the truck, and we can normally price it on the call.
How hire works
How forklift hire works
- Tell us the job. What you are lifting, how heavy, how high, indoors or out, and for how long.
- We confirm availability and price from the nearest depot holding the right machine.
- We deliver on our own transport, with a current thorough examination.
- You work. Servicing and breakdown cover are ours for the duration, and you can extend the hire if the job runs on.
- We collect when you are done, on a date you set.

Operators are your responsibility: anyone driving the machine needs to be trained and authorised for that type of truck. Training is not part of the hire, but we run RTITB accredited operator training matched to the machine, from counterbalance to reach truck.
If a hired machine stops
Our engineers, not a subcontractor
Call us and we send one of our own engineers out to it. If the truck does not work, you get your money back, and where we judge it necessary we supply a stand-in machine, so you carry on working instead of waiting on the repair. That applies to every type of equipment we hire.
- Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Outside those hours the breakdown callout line runs 24/7.
- Every hire machine goes out with a current thorough examination.

Delivery and collection
Forklift hire across the UK, from eight depots
Machines go out from Purfleet, Kent, Reading, Portsmouth, Rugby, Norwich, Spalding and Liverpool, on our own transport rather than a haulier. Transport is charged separately and the fee depends on where you are.
If we have the machine you want and a driver is free, we can deliver the next day. When something has broken down, same day delivery is often possible.

Short term, long term and contract hire
The honest dividing line is how long the work lasts and how certain you are about it.
Short term hire
A few days, a few weeks, or the length of one job. You pay more per week and buy flexibility.

Most operations end up running a permanent core with short term machines around the edges. If a hire runs on and starts to look permanent, we will say so, because past a certain number of months a longer agreement or buying is usually cheaper.

Forklift hire: common questions
Weekly rates in our fleet start at £100 for a 2.5 tonne electric forklift and £108 for a 2.5 tonne diesel. 5 tonne LPG and electric forklifts start at £150, and a 5 tonne LPG forklift with a high mast at £195. Reach truck hire starts at £100 a week. All prices are ex VAT and transport is charged separately.

Full maintenance and tyres, a current thorough examination, delivery and collection on our own transport, and breakdown support. Fuel or charging, the operator, and damage caused in use are not included.

No. Diesel, LPG or electric charging costs during the hire are the customer's. We are happy to advise on the most economical machine for the job.
