Hot water (HDS) or cold water (HD)
Hot water cuts through oil, grease and heavy soiling faster than cold, and needs less detergent. The Kärcher HDS range runs from the HDS 7/10 to the HDS 18/18.
The M and S machines reach 155 °C at the steam stage and carry two detergent tanks; the Classic versions heat to 80 °C and are built on an open tubular steel frame with a crane hook and a 30-litre fuel tank. See HDS hot water pressure washers.
Cold water machines are lighter and simpler, and suit everyday washdown of yards, vehicles and equipment where oil and grease are not the problem. See HD cold water pressure washers.
