When an articulated forklift beats a reach truck
A reach truck needs a wider aisle to turn and place a pallet. An articulated truck turns on its centre joint and faces the racking from inside the aisle, so the same building holds more racking. A Flexi works aisles from 1.6 metres wide.
It also works outside. An articulated truck can unload a trailer in the yard, drive into the warehouse and put the pallet away in a narrow aisle, so one truck does a job that would otherwise take a counterbalance and a reach truck. A reach truck is built for smooth indoor floors.
A reach truck still makes sense where the aisles are already reach-truck width and all the work is indoors: compare reach trucks before you decide.
Aisle widths
Measure the aisle rack face to rack face, with the pallet overhang counted in, and tell us the pallet size and which way it goes into the racking. We match a chassis and mast to that dimension. If the racking is not in yet, the racking finder helps you choose a system, and we size the aisles and the trucks together.
Indoors, outdoors or both
Electric articulated trucks are the usual choice for warehouse work, with no exhaust and low noise. Where the truck also crosses a yard, tell us the surface and the gradient so we can match the tyres and the drive to it.

Used articulated forklifts for sale
Most of our used machines are ex-hire units we owned and maintained ourselves, so the service history is ours. Before a used machine leaves us it is inspected against our own standards and signed off, and every used machine is supplied with a current thorough examination as standard.
Articulated forklift hire
Articulated forklifts are available on hire from a week to several years, including short-term hire for peaks and cover. There is no minimum hire period: the minimum charge is one week at the weekly rate. Hire rates for individual models are on the listings above.
Finance, servicing and training
Finance is available on new and used machines: outright purchase, lease purchase, contract hire and operating lease. See forklift leasing.
