Acclaim Handling Announce Partnership with Ahmarra Doors Solutions
We recently had the pleasure of visiting one of the UK’s leading fire door manufacturers, Ahmarra Door Solutions. Our marketing department, accompanied by our Business Support Manager, Alex headed down to Portsmouth to observe the daily running of their production line. We also saw how Ahmarra were getting on with their new Hyundai trucks and the impact they have had making operations simpler and more efficient.
With over 30 years of experience, Ahmarra’s core services include the design, manufacture, installation, and project management of bespoke fire doors. They also strive themselves on providing the highest quality performance door sets and first-class service by utilising traditional craftsmanship, cutting edge technology and the finest materials to guarantee exceptional standards.
Environmental & Sustainability Objectives
Ahmarra’s goal is to become a fully carbon neutral door manufacturer. As such, they use responsibly sourced Forest Stewardship Council™ and PEFC International certified timber as standard to manufacture their doors and frames. Sustainably sourced timber is also one of the most environmentally friendly construction materials available, as trees not only filter carbon from the air, but are completely renewable.
Since having 800 solar panels installed on their roof and with the help of switching to Electric Forklifts, Ahmarra have saved 756 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – that’s the equivalent of planting over 2,280 trees. Ahmarra made the choice to switch from gas fuelled forklifts to Acclaim Handling’s electric forklifts, which are predominantly powered by solar energy.
Why Choose Acclaim?
Ahmarra came to us in need of Electric Counterbalance trucks with the capability of lifting packs of materials to 6000mm and with a camera system for safety reasons and accuracy to be more efficient in the long run. They were also in need of Pallet Trucks with an elongated handle which provides safety and efficiency within the warehouse.
Acclaim were able to deliver this to Ahmarra at a competitive price alongside the signing of a five year contract, which not only covers the hire but also the servicing and full maintenance of two Hyundai 30B-9U electric forklift trucks, two Hyundai 20-EP electric pallet trucks and one Crown SHR reach truck.
We also currently provide Ahmarra’s staff with comprehensive operator training. Most recently being Pallet Stacker Training, carried out by our Driver Trainer Paul, on site in August.
