Acclaim Handling has been supplying materials handling equipment since 1982, and we are the longest-serving independent distributor of forklifts and warehouse equipment in the UK. The categories above cover the full range we sell, hire and maintain: counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, very narrow aisle and articulated trucks, powered access, and industrial cleaning equipment.

The brands we hold

We are the exclusive dealer and distributor for STILL, Hyundai and Lonking. The STILL range covers counterbalance, reach trucks, order pickers and warehouse equipment. Lonking runs from 1,500 kg to 10,000 kg, from the LG15B up to the LG50B, and includes lithium-ion models. We also supply Combilift multi-directional and articulated trucks from 1,500 kg to 30,000 kg, the Aisle Master articulated range, and Narrow Aisle Flexi for very narrow aisle work.

New, used or hire

Most categories can be supplied new, used or on hire. Delivery on new machinery starts from 2 weeks. Our used machines come mainly off our own hire fleet and are maintained by our own engineers, and every used machine leaves with a current thorough examination certificate. If you are not sure which route suits the job, tell us the load, the lift height and the aisle width and we will spec it for you.

Choosing the right truck

Three numbers decide most of it: capacity, lift height and closed height. Closed height is the one people forget, and it is what stops a mast fitting through a doorway or into a container. Aisle width then decides whether a counterbalance will work or whether you need a reach, articulated or very narrow aisle machine. Power source is the last call: diesel, LPG, lead-acid electric or lithium-ion. Lithium-ion suits multi-shift operations because it charges opportunistically during breaks, so there is no spare battery, no changing area and none of the handling gear that goes with them.

Paying for it

You can buy outright or use finance. We offer lease purchase, contract hire, operating lease and outright purchase through a third-party funder. Part exchange is open on any make and model, working or not, including redundant warehouse equipment that is just taking up floor space. We assess it on age, condition and specification and put the value against what you are buying. All our prices are ex VAT.

What happens after delivery

Servicing and repairs start from £90 ex VAT and thorough examinations from £135 ex VAT. We are CFTS accredited, so one thorough examination covers both LOLER and PUWER and you get a single report. We also run fleet management for anyone with mixed kit across several sites, stock parts for STILL, Hyundai, Lonking, Flexi, Aisle Master and Combilift, and operate a callout number for when you need an engineer out straight away.

Where we cover

We deliver nationwide from our sites at Purfleet, Kent, Reading, Portsmouth, Rugby, Norwich, Spalding and Liverpool. Transport is charged separately and the fee depends on where you are. Every site also runs plant training and forklift certification. Our accreditations are ISO 9001, ISO 45001, UKMHA, SafeContractor, RTITB, JOSCAR and Cyber Essentials, and all of them are current.
