Stores Administrator (Maternity Cover)


Acclaim Handling Limited, established in 1982, specialise in the hire, supply and maintenance of forklift trucks and other mechanical handling equipment, predominantly in the South of England. We have a reputation for value for money and service second to none, supported locally from our regional service centres.


Reports To: Parts Manager

Hours Of Work: 40 hours per week. Some overtime as required

Salary: £20,000 – £22,000 based on experience

This is a temporary position based at our Purfleet depot and is to cover maternity leave, approx. 11 months.


Summary Of Job: 

  • Picking of parts from the Purfleet parts store
  • Serving the workshop Engineering department
  • Putting stock away and keeping the stores area in a clean and safe condition
  • To be responsible for goods in
  • Checking and re-ordering bulk oil supplies
  • Provide new starters relevant equipment
  • Occasionally deliver parts to local customers
  • Process parts requisitions
  • To assist when required in identifying part numbers
  • Provide employees with tools and required PPE
  • Lifting bulky goods
  • To always observe company Health and Safety policy
  • Direct sales

The person:


  • Well-organized with good IT skills and administration skills.
  • Trustworthy, Reliable with a “Can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem solver and Self-Starter.


  • Experience in working in an Engineering parts department
  • Experience of forklift trucks would be an advantage. (training will be provided)
