Acclaim Handling has been supplying materials handling equipment since 1982. We are the biggest independent supplier of used forklift trucks and MHE in the UK, and the longest-serving independent distributor of used forklifts and used warehouse equipment.
We currently hold around 302 used machines across all equipment types.
The vast majority of our used forklifts are ex-hire units off our own fleet, maintained by our own engineers.
That is a different proposition from buying a second hand forklift that has been traded in, auctioned, or imported, with a service history that is somebody else’s word.
Every used forklift leaves with a current thorough examination certificate
Every used machine we supply comes with a current thorough examination certificate. Always.
Before that certificate is issued, the machine is inspected thoroughly against our own standards and has to pass before it is released to a customer.
We are CFTS accredited and that accreditation is current. Under CFTS, one thorough examination covers both LOLER and PUWER, and you get one report.
Our other accreditations: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, UKMHA, SafeContractor, RTITB, JOSCAR and Cyber Essentials.
Refurbishment
We offer refurbishment on used units. Talk to us about what you want doing before you commit to a truck, so it can be scheduled.
What we hold

STILL
Our largest single line: 486 STILL machines in total, 154 of them used. We are the exclusive dealer and distributor for STILL: counterbalance, reach trucks, order pickers and warehouse equipment.
Hyundai
290 Hyundai machines in total, 80 of them used. We are the exclusive dealer and distributor for Hyundai.
Lonking
30 Lonking machines, 8 of them used, from 1,500 kg to 10,000 kg. The range runs from the LG15B up to the LG50B, plus lithium-ion models and the SL15L3. We are the exclusive dealer and distributor for Lonking, and we stock Lonking parts.
Multi-directional, articulated and very narrow aisle
- Combilift, 1,500 kg to 30,000 kg, from the C2500 up to the C30000. Combilift also build the Aisle Master.
- Aisle Master, 1,500 kg to 2,000 kg: 15SE, 15SHE, 20SE, 20WHE.
- Narrow Aisle Flexi, 1,500 kg to 2,000 kg: Flexi G4, Flexi AC 1000, Flexi Euro, Flexi 17N+.
- Flexi, 2,000 kg to 2,500 kg: AC, AC Hiload, AC Himax, AC VNA.
We can also order new Aisle Master and Combilift machines from the factory if nothing used fits the aisle.
Paying for it
You can buy outright, or use finance. We offer lease purchase, contract hire, operating lease and outright purchase on used machines as well as new, through a third-party funder.
Part exchange: any make, any model, working or not, including redundant warehouse equipment that is just taking up floor space. We assess it on age, condition and specification and put the value against what you are buying.
All our prices are ex VAT.
Delivery
We deliver nationwide. Transport is charged separately and the fee depends on where you are.
We also transport third-party machines. You do not have to have bought the truck from us.
What happens after you have bought it
- Servicing and repairs: equipment service from £90 ex VAT. Comprehensive and planned maintenance contracts available.
- Thorough examinations: from £135 ex VAT. We examine machines we did not supply, and we examine lifting accessories: slings, chains, forks and attachments. We also examine access equipment and MEWPs.
- Parts: we stock parts for STILL, Hyundai, Lonking, Flexi, Aisle Master and Combilift.
- Batteries: supply and regeneration.
- Fleet management: for anyone running mixed kit across sites.
- Operator training: RTITB accredited. Operator training £360 ex VAT.
- Callouts: if you need an engineer out straight away we have a callout number. It carries a callout charge plus travel.
Not sure whether to buy or hire?
There is no minimum hire period. A machine can go out for a single day, but the minimum charge is one week at the weekly rate. Hire covers all our equipment types, not just forklifts.
If a hired truck fails, you get your money back, we send an engineer out, and we will put in a prop-up machine if we deem it necessary.
