With a new site in Sittingbourne opening in spring 2023, Precon Products turned to Acclaim Handling to procure cutting-edge equipment for the newly established site to compliment machines already supplied to other regional depots. The demands of this site were unique. A reliable, green solution was required with a range of machinery to meet the deadline of the depot opening.
At the heart of Precon’s requirements was the need for a 5T capacity machine with a specialised attachment capable of securely gripping and lifting fabricated steel reinforcement mesh. This component plays a pivotal role in Precon’s day-to-day operations. A Diesel-powered counterbalance forklift is used at all of the other sites Precon have in the UK for this part of the operation, but with a focus on a green solution for the new site, a STILL RX60-50 was proposed by Acclaim’s Sales Director, Ian Taplin, along with the Talon Mesh Grab attachment procured by Precon Products direct.
Acclaim’s involvement didn’t end there. In addition to this crucial Forklift and Attachment, they supplied a comprehensive suite of electric equipment to further enhance Precon’s efficiency and focus on the environment as they recently announced they are a Carbon Neutral Organisation. This included an Electric JCB TLT 30-19E, where usually a Diesel powered JCB TLT-30D would be used, and a Lonking CPD25 Lithium Electric Counterbalance for the yard work in place of the usual Diesel powered Counterbalance Forklifts. Two STILL FM-X reach trucks compliment the yard trucks to work internally in the warehouse servicing the racking and stores allowing Precon to maximise the warehouse capacity.
