Wessex Resins & Adhesives were founded in 1981 and specialise in the manufacturing and developing of high-quality epoxy products.

With greater efficiency required, Wessex Resins & Adhesives approached Acclaim Handling with a view of renewing two of the company’s fork trucks for handling and delivery of raw materials for its manufacturing processes.

Wessex Resins & Adhesives is renowned for the manufacture of quality products and therefore needed a comprehensive insight from Acclaim Handling as to which fork trucks would be suitable for their needs to move raw materials used in the manufacture of epoxide resins and hardeners.

Whilst reviewing the project requirements, we also advised that they would benefit from some upgrades to the new fork trucks to boost the efficiency of its liquid handling. Wessex duly took onboard this advice and had these suggestions applied to the trucks, by doing this it improved efficiency to their processes.

Wessex Resins & Adhesives have added 2 Hyundai trucks to their fleet, including: Hyundai 20BT-9U and a Hyundai 25BH-9. Both trucks are fantastic for productivity and efficiency due to the Electric Power Steering (EPS). The EPS system offers speed adaptive steering feedback which allows operators to set up different parameters suited to them. The features of trucks, i.e. EPS and ZF drivetrain, reduce the energy consumption significantly which also cuts running costs and extends operating hours.

Both Hyundai’s also require minimal maintenance due to them having Lithium Ion batteries. This means, no replenishing of distilled water / electrolytes. Battery lifespan is at least double of the sulfuric acid / lead acid batteries. There are also no restrictions on location of charging areas and no harmful gases are emitted.
