Why dry ice rather than another method
Dry ice sublimates on impact. It goes from solid to gas and leaves nothing behind, so there is no secondary waste to collect and dispose of the way there is with grit, soda or water blasting.
It is non conductive and non abrasive, which is why it gets used on electrical equipment, control panels and tooling that would be damaged by grit or could not be taken off site to be cleaned. In a lot of cases the machine or the line does not have to be dismantled first, and that is usually where the time is saved rather than in the cleaning itself.
Buying, and what to work out first
Three things decide which machine fits: how many hours a week it will run, what the surface and the contamination actually are, and whether you have a dry ice supply arranged. Ice consumption is the running cost that people underestimate, so it is worth sizing the machine against the work rather than against the biggest job you might ever do.
