Combilift side loaders: Combi-SL, Combi-SLE and Combi-4WSL

Combilift
The Side loaders at a glance
A side loader carries its load along its side rather than out in front, so long steel, timber and pipe travel lengthways. That means narrower aisles, and gateways a front-loading truck could never get a long load through. There are two kinds: the three-wheel Combi-SL, which can also drive in four directions, and the four-wheel Combi-4WSL, a two-directional side loader.

Specification
Combi-SL and SLE
- SL4500, SL5000 and SL6000: 4,500, 5,000 and 6,000 kg, with all-wheel hydrostatic drive and a standard lift of 4,040 mm. Earlier trucks carry the names C4500SL, C5000SL and C6000SL.
- SLE5000: the electric version, rated at 5,000 kg.
The SL comes with a reverse cab position or a front-access cab. It works in narrow aisles and can block or bulk stack.

Combi-4WSL
The C5000 4WSL and C6000 4WSL are four-wheel, two-directional side loaders for 5 and 6 tonnes. With a 75 kW engine, Deutz diesel or GM LPG, and a top speed of 25 km/h, they suit longer runs across a yard, and they stop on wet disc brakes.
What goes on the platform
Typical loads are steel, timber, pipes, aluminium profiles and building products. Builders’ merchants and steel stockholders use side loaders to take bundles off a lorry and put them straight into cantilever racking.
Checking a used side loader
No used side loader is sold without our engineers inspecting it first. The platform, mast and chains carry the work, so look at the mast wear pads, lift chains and hydraulic hoses, then the tyres and brakes. Quote the serial plate number when you need parts.

New side loaders are ordered through us as an authorised Combilift dealer. Side loaders are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run side loader training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
