The Combi-CB at a glance
The Combi-CB was the first forklift to put multi-directional travel into a counterbalance truck. With the wheels straight, it works like any counterbalance forklift, picking pallets off a lorry or out of racking. Turn the wheels and it carries timber, steel beams or other long loads sideways, along aisles and through doors.

Specification
Four models
- Combi-CB: 2,500 or 3,000 kg at a 600 mm load centre, on diesel or LPG. It is 1,500 mm wide, with a standard 4,000 mm lift and masts to 6,000 mm.
- Combi-CB4: the 4-tonne version, on diesel or LPG.
- Combi-CBE: the electric CB, 2,500 or 3,000 kg on a 48-volt battery, using Combilift’s patented electric traction control.
- Combi-CB4E: the 4-tonne electric, on 72 volts with three-wheel electric drive. Combilift also calls it the CBE4.

What it is used for
It offloads lorries, brings goods to racking and feeds production lines, and it is small enough to drive into a container. For a site with mixed pallets and lengths, one Combi-CB can replace a counterbalance truck and a side loader.
Looking over a used Combi-CB
A used Combi-CB is only sold once our engineers have inspected it. Check the tyres, brakes and hydraulic system before anything else, then the mast and chains. The LPG engine changed between generations, from a GM engine on earlier CBs to a Toyota on later ones, which matters when ordering parts, so note the serial plate.
Supply, hire and training
We are an authorised Combilift dealer and supply the Combi-CB family new, with the mast and power you need. Multi-directional counterbalance trucks are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run multi-directional forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
