The L-7M at a glance
Hyundai’s L-7M is the small end of its LPG range: three seated, four-wheel counterbalance trucks rated at 1,500, 1,750 and 2,000 kg. All three run the same 2.4 litre four-cylinder LPG engine through a powershift transmission, on pneumatic tyres that cope with a rough yard as well as a warehouse floor.

Which one carries what
The number is the rough capacity, but read the plate: the 18L-7M is rated at 1,750 kg, not 1,800. The 15L-7M takes 1,500 kg and the 20L-7M 2,000 kg, all at a 500 mm load centre. Capacity drops as the forks go higher on the taller masts, so if you are stacking near the top of the range, check the capacity plate for that mast rather than the headline figure.

Who it suits
An L-7M earns its place where a site works in and out of doors all day and nobody wants to plan around charging. A bottle change takes minutes, the turning radius is only just over 2 metres, and the pneumatic tyres ride over the kind of surface that punishes a cushion-tyred electric. For heavier loads the same family continues as the Hyundai 7A LPG range from 2.5 tonnes.
Masts and lift heights
Lift heights run from about 2.5 metres to just over 7 metres depending on the mast: two-stage masts for general loading work, and three-stage full free-lift masts where you need to lift inside a container or under a low roof before the mast extends.
Buying a used L-7M
Every used L-7M we sell has been inspected by our own engineers and each listing on this page is one specific truck, with its year, mast and lift height. On any used LPG truck it pays to look at the gas system: the regulator, the hoses and the bottle bracket. Look at the mast chains and fork heels for wear too. Ask us for the service history on the machine you are considering.
Hire, lease and support
For a season, a contract or several years, LPG forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are free now. We run counterbalance training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
