Kärcher IB Dry Ice Blasters: IB 10/8 L2P, IB 7/40 Advanced and IB 15/120
Cleaning moulds, tools and production machinery with little downtime, where water, chemicals or grit residue are not an option. Kärcher's IB dry ice blasters use 2 to 120 kg/h of ice.

Kärcher
The IB at a glance
A dry ice blaster fires pellets of frozen CO₂ in a compressed-air jet at more than 150 m/s. The sudden cold cracks the layer of dirt, and the ice gets underneath, lifts it off and turns back into gas. Only the loosened dirt is left to clear, with no water, chemicals or blasting grit, so it works where wet cleaning is not allowed.

Specification
Three machines
- IB 10/8 L2P: 2 to 8 kg/h of dry ice, made inside the machine from liquid CO₂. Air use is 0.07 to 0.8 m³/min at 0.7 to 10 bar, low enough for a workshop compressor.
- IB 7/40 Advanced: 15 to 50 kg/h from a 15 kg ice container, on 0.5 to 3.5 m³/min at 2 to 10 bar, which suits an in-house compressed-air network. Ice quantity and air pressure are set at the gun.
- IB 15/120: 30 to 120 kg/h from a 40 kg container, on 2 to 12 m³/min at up to 16 bar, for intensive, heavy-duty blasting.

Pellets made on demand, or loaded
L2P stands for liquid-to-pellet: the IB 10/8 L2P draws liquid CO₂ from a gas cylinder with a dip tube and turns it into 2.5 mm pellets as it works. That removes the need to order in dry ice and keep it cold. The IB 7/40 Advanced and IB 15/120 take ready-made 3 mm pellets in an insulated GRP container, and they empty leftover ice at the push of a button.
Before each shift
Check the blasting hose for cracks, kinks and soft spots, which show wear inside, and look over the cables and plugs. Blasting raises the CO₂ level in the air, so ventilate the work area well; the IB 10/8 L2P’s exhaust hose should run outdoors. Cordon off the area and wear goggles, gloves, long sleeves and hearing protection.
Supply and servicing
We supply all three as an authorised Kärcher dealer; ask us about availability. Our engineers service and repair Kärcher machines, and other makes too.
Tell us the load, the lift height and the site, and we will say which IB fits, new, used or on hire.
