The D-9 at a glance
The D-9 is the generation of Hyundai diesel counterbalance trucks that came before the Stage V D-9V. They cover 2,500 to 8,000 kg in three sizes, all with powershift transmissions, and are built for hard indoor and outdoor work, ramps and repetitive lifting.

Three sizes
- 25D-9, 30D-9 and 33D-9: 2,500, 3,000 and 3,300 kg at a 500 mm load centre. A 3.3 litre Kubota engine of 50 kW meets Stage IIIB without a particulate filter, so there is no filter regeneration to manage. Turning radius is 2,342 to 2,463 mm.
- 35D-9, 40D-9, 45D-9 and 50DA-9: 3,500 to 5,000 kg at 600 mm, for intensive work and front-end attachments, with a 75 kW Cummins QSF3.8 engine that meets Stage IV using SCR and no particulate filter.
- 50D-9, 70D-9 and 80D-9: 5,000, 7,000 and 8,000 kg at 600 mm for large loads, also on the 75 kW Cummins, turning in 3,314 to 3,700 mm.
The 50D-9 and the 50DA-9 are different trucks: the 50DA-9 is the top of the middle size, and the 50D-9 the start of the 5 to 8 tonne size.

Buying a used D-9
On the 2.5 to 3.3 tonne trucks, the display gives a clear warning when a service is due, and a clutch protection system limits excessive inching. Some have a passcode start. Check the tyres, mast chains and hydraulic hoses, and ask for its hours and service record. Our engineers inspect every used D-9 before sale.

As Hyundai’s exclusive dealer and distributor we sell and service Hyundai diesel forklifts of every generation. Diesel forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
