The LG electric at a glance
Lonking’s LG electric range comes in two layouts. The LG B trucks are four-wheel counterbalance forklifts from 1,500 to 5,000 kg, and the LG BE trucks are three-wheelers for 1,600 to 2,000 kg, built for small turning circles. All of them have AC drive, and the number in the name gives the capacity: an LG25B lifts 2,500 kg at a 500 mm load centre.

Four wheels or three
- LG15B to LG35B: the general-purpose trucks, turning in 1,800 mm on the LG15B up to 2,270 mm on the LG35B.
- LG40B and LG50B: the heavy pair, for 4 and 5 tonne loads.
- LG16BE, LG18BE and LG20BE: two drive motors on the front wheels and a single rear wheel bring the turning radius down to 1,590 mm on the two smaller models. Regenerative braking feeds energy back to the battery.

Lead-acid or lithium-ion
LG trucks can be specified with a lead-acid battery or a lithium iron phosphate pack. The lithium option charges fully within two hours on the standard model and has no memory effect, so it can be topped up at breaks. The battery type changes a truck’s length, weight and turning figures slightly, so check which one a used truck carries.
Masts
The standard mast lifts 3 metres. Two-stage masts reach 6 metres, and three-stage free-lift masts reach 7 metres on the 2 to 3.5 tonne trucks and 6.5 metres on the three-wheelers and the 4 and 5 tonne models. The mast codes are easy to read: M is a standard two-stage mast, ZM a two-stage free-lift mast and ZSM a three-stage free-lift mast, followed by the height in centimetres.
Buying a used LG
Every used Lonking we sell is inspected by our engineers first. Capacity falls as the forks go higher, and a side shifter takes 150 kg off the 1.5 to 2.5 tonne trucks and the three-wheelers, or 200 kg off the 4 and 5 tonne models; on the 3 and 3.5 tonne trucks the capacity plate gives the figure. Read the plate for the mast and attachments actually fitted. The three-wheelers show fault codes on their display. Older LG trucks used ZAPI controllers and later ones use Inmotion; our engineers work on both.
Supply, hire and training
As Lonking’s exclusive dealer and distributor, we supply new LG trucks with the battery and mast you choose. Electric forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
