The BE-X at a glance
The BE-X is Hyundai’s economical electric counterbalance range: four-wheel trucks from 1,600 to 3,500 kg for warehouse and distribution work. They drive through a single drive axle, and the 16BE-X, 20BE-X and 25BE-X run on 48 volts, while the 30BE-X and 35BE-X step up to 80 volts.

The models
- 16BE-X and 20BE-X: 1,600 and 2,000 kg at a 500 mm load centre, turning in 1,890 and 1,910 mm.
- 25BE-X: 2,500 kg at 500 mm on 48 volts, turning in 2,135 mm.
- 30BE-X and 35BE-X: 3,000 and 3,500 kg on 80 volts.
The standard mast lifts 3,000 mm, and travel speed is 14 km/h laden and 15 km/h empty.

Lead-acid or lithium
Each BE-X can run on lead-acid or on a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. On the 16BE-X and 20BE-X that means 420 to 495 Ah of lead-acid or 300 Ah of lithium; on the 25BE-X, 600 to 660 Ah of lead-acid or 450 Ah of lithium. Lithium suits sites that charge in breaks.
Indoors and out
The drive and pump motors are rated IP54 and the controller IP65, so a BE-X can work on the yard as well as inside. A maximum travel speed can be set through the display to match a site’s speed limit.
What to look at on a used BE-X
The truck sounds a warning and lights a lamp for low brake oil, battery discharge and high controller or motor temperature, so start it up and check the display is clear. Find out which battery it carries, look at the cables and connectors, and check the forks and chains. Our engineers inspect every used BE-X before sale.

New BE-X trucks come through us as Hyundai’s exclusive dealer and distributor, specified with lead-acid or lithium and the mast height you need. Electric forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
