The B-9U at a glance
The B-9U is Hyundai’s 48-volt, four-wheel electric counterbalance in the 2.5 to 3.5 tonne class, built for intensive indoor handling in warehouses and logistics centres. It took over from the 25B-9, running longer on a charge, and two separately controlled 7 kW drive motors share the work at the front.

Specification
The models
- 25B-9U: 2,500 kg at a 500 mm load centre, turning in 1,940 mm.
- 30B-9U: 3,000 kg, turning in 2,150 mm.
- 35B-9U: 3,500 kg, turning in 2,205 mm.
Travel speed is 17 km/h laden and 18 km/h empty, the standard mast lifts 3,300 mm and the tallest go beyond 7 metres. Continental SC18 solid tyres are standard.

Battery options
The B-9U runs on 48-volt lead-acid, or on a 51.5 V, 564 Ah lithium-ion pack rated for more than 4,000 cycles, with no water to top up.
Display and diagnostics
A 4.3-inch display runs in 11 languages and handles set-up and on-board diagnosis, showing battery discharge, low brake oil, errors and high temperature, with error codes on screen. The motor is sealed to IP43 and the controller to IP65.
Checking a used B-9U
Switch on and read the display: any error code or warning lamp tells you where to look. Check the battery type and its cables, slide the battery out to see the cells, and look at the lift chains and the heels of the forks. Our engineers inspect each used B-9U before sale.
Supply, hire and training
New B-9Us are supplied by us as Hyundai’s exclusive dealer and distributor, with lead-acid or lithium-ion. 48-volt electric forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
