Hyundai’s heavy diesel forklifts carry 11 to 25 tonnes, for ports and industrial sites with high duty cycles and hard operating conditions. Every model drives through a ZF full-automatic powershift transmission with two selectable automatic modes and runs on large pneumatic tyres, and the 110D-9 to 160D-9 and the 250D-9 stop on wet disc brakes.

The models
- 110D-9, 130D-9 and 160D-9: 11,000, 13,000 and 16,000 kg at a 600 mm load centre, with a 6.7 litre Cummins engine of 122 kW, lifting 3 metres as standard and to 7,525 mm (7,515 mm on the 160D-9).
- 160D-9L: the long-load version, 16,000 kg at a 1,200 mm load centre, for timber, lumber, containers, concrete and steel products, lifting to 7,034 mm.
- 250D-9: 25,000 kg at 1,200 mm for aluminium, steel, block and container handling, with an 8.9 litre Cummins of 204 kW and a standard lift of 4,030 mm.
An engine mode switch chooses between a fuel-saving standard mode and a power mode for heavy work or slopes. The D-9V heavy range that followed meets Stage V, adding a particulate filter to the oxidation catalyst and SCR.
Checking a used heavy truck
The display carries the hour meter, a urea level gauge, an engine check lamp, transmission information and a transmission oil temperature gauge, with a maintenance management screen. The cab tilts to about 65 degrees on the 110D-9 to 160D-9 and the 250D-9, and about 53 degrees on the 160D-9L, which makes the drive line easy to inspect. A master switch isolates the battery. Our engineers inspect every used heavy truck before it goes on sale.
Supply, hire and training
We sell the heavy D-9 used. Its successor, the D-9V heavy range from the 100D-9V at 10 tonnes to the 300D-9VC at 30 tonnes, we supply new to order as Hyundai’s exclusive dealer and distributor, and we look after both in service. Heavy forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
