Stair Climbers and Stair Climbing Trolleys

Stair walkers have an extending foot that walks the machine up and down the stairs one step at a time. They take the heaviest loads, up to 680 kg on the largest LectroTruck models, and are the usual choice for vending machines, safes and server cabinets.

Push-arm climbers are the simplest to use and the closest to a sack barrow: a motorised arm rotates out and down, lifting the machine and its load one step at a time. They suit lighter loads such as washing machines and other white goods.

Rated capacities in our range run from 190 kg on the lightest Liftkar to 680 kg on the heaviest LectroTruck stair walkers. In between are machines rated at 275 kg, 310 kg, 350 kg and around 550 kg.

The right machine depends on the heaviest load, its shape, and the stairs themselves: their width, the landings and any turns. Tell us the load, its weight and the stairs it has to go up, and we will match the machine.

A powered stair climber earns its place where heavy items go up and down stairs regularly: deliveries and installations of vending machines, white goods and safes, office moves, and sites with no goods lift. If the load can go in a lift or stays on one level, a platform truck or sack truck moves it more simply. Lighter, everyday loads are covered by our manual handling equipment.

We sell new powered stair climbers from LectroTruck, Stair Robot and Liftkar, from push-arm machines to stair walkers rated at 680 kg. Tell us the load and the stairs and we will recommend the model.

We sell used powered stair climbers from our own stock, and every used machine is inspected by our own engineers before sale. Ask us what is available now.

Hire suits a one-off move, an installation project or trying a machine before you buy. See stair climber hire for how hire works, or browse all of our equipment.

Powered stair climbers are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We service and repair stair climbers, and we train people to use them.
