The L-7A 3.5–7 t at a glance
These are the larger trucks in Hyundai’s L-7A LPG range: counterbalance forklifts from 3,500 to 7,000 kg at a 600 mm load centre. They are built for high-output indoor handling, loading on ramps and fast, repetitive lifting, and the 6 and 7 tonne models for heavy work such as lifting paper rolls. Two sizes
- 35L-7A to 50L-7A: 3,500 to 5,000 kg, turning in 2,806 to 2,947 mm, with a standard lift of about 3 metres and masts to 6,030 mm.
- 60L-7A and 70L-7A: 6,000 and 7,000 kg, turning in 3,321 and 3,370 mm. The 70L-7A is only 4,820 mm long overall.
Engine and drive
Power comes from a 4.3 litre V6 LPG engine and a powershift gearbox. It is a GM unit of 70 kW; later 70L-7A trucks have a PSI 4.3 litre engine of 78 kW and masts to 7,330 mm. Unladen travel speed is 22.4 to 23.8 km/h, and the operator presence system on the 3.5 to 5 tonne trucks stops the mast and drive unless the driver is seated.
What to check on a used truck
The dash carries warning lamps for the engine, air filter, transmission oil temperature, battery charging and engine oil, plus an hour meter, so switch on and see what shows. The transmission oil level can be checked without taking anything apart. On the 6 and 7 tonne trucks, a lamp warns of low brake oil and the steering axle centre pin has grease fittings. Our engineers inspect every used L-7A before it is sold.
Supply, hire and training
We sell the larger L-7A trucks used. For a new LPG truck of this size we supply the L-9 range as Hyundai’s exclusive dealer and distributor: the 35LN-9A at 3,500 kg and the 40L-9, 45L-9 and 50L-9 at 4,000 to 5,000 kg. We maintain both. Heavy LPG forklifts are available on hire and lease; ask us which models are available now. We run counterbalance forklift training at our centres and on customers’ sites.
