Forklift Hire Telford

Forklift hire in Telford from £85 a week: trucks come out along the M54 on our own transport, and the Rugby-based Midlands Service Centre looks after them. Call 01788 560 534 and the quote comes from the team that delivers and services the machine.

Telford forklift hire, delivered from Rugby

Through forklift truck hire from £85 a week, Telford sites can have electric, LPG and diesel counterbalance trucks, reach trucks, Flexi articulated trucks, powered pallet trucks and stackers, together with access platforms and cleaning machines. Phone the Rugby team on 01788 560 534 between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday; a truck that stops out of hours goes to the 24/7 emergency breakdown callout line.

Telford lies out along the M54, about 67 miles from Rugby by road, with the M6 carrying the first part of the journey round Birmingham. Every machine makes that trip on our own transport. The earlier the dates are fixed, the easier the delivery is to plan, and collection is agreed in the same call.

Telford's estates were laid out with wide roads and quick access from the M54, which makes delivery days on Halesfield, Stafford Park or Hortonwood straightforward. Tell us the dates as soon as they are known, and the truck is put on a run that lands it when the job starts.

Which truck for Telford work

Telford was built as a new town around its industrial estates, and most of their units have level, finished floors: plastics, food, electronics, automotive supply and distribution. That makes electric counterbalance trucks the usual choice indoors, with LPG trucks for loading bays and yards. Diesel counterbalance trucks take on builders' merchants, timber and the rougher ground of older sites.

Racked warehouses on Stafford Park and Hortonwood run reach trucks to height, and where aisles are tight a Flexi articulated truck turns where a counterbalance cannot. Production lines and goods-in rarely need more than powered pallet trucks and pallet stackers.

Rotators and fork extensions can be fitted for the hire. Access platforms and industrial cleaning machines can be loaded alongside the forklift, so one trip from Rugby brings everything. For a quote, give us the heaviest load, the height of the top racking beam and the aisle width.

Telford's estates, from Halesfield to Hortonwood

Halesfield, on the south side of the town off the A442, is a large estate of manufacturing and engineering units. Stafford Park, beside junction 4 of the M54, mixes production, storage and offices a short way from the town centre.

North of the centre, Hortonwood and Hadley Park hold larger industrial and distribution buildings, and Tweedale adds smaller units for trade and light industry. The T54 business park beside the M54 has brought newer distribution and manufacturing space onto the motorway.

Donnington, on the north-east edge of the town, completes the spread, and every one of these estates is worked from Rugby by one team on one number.

Looking after a Telford hire

Hired trucks in Telford are serviced by the engineers behind forklift servicing and repairs in Telford, who travel with stocked vans carrying filters, brake parts, hydraulic seals, forks, tyres, bulbs and belts. We book the LOLER thorough examination too: at least every twelve months for a truck lifting loads, and every six where it lifts people. The hire fleet is CFTS accredited.

On a long hire, one visit can cover both the service and the thorough examination, leaving the truck out of use just once, with both reports handed over together. Traction batteries and chargers are among the parts Rugby supplies and fits, along with tyres and attachments.

If your team would like it, we run operator training at our centres and on customers' sites, for novices, for refreshers and for operators converting to another truck: see our forklift training pages.

Hire terms and prices

Hire runs from a single day through to long-term contract hire, from £85 a week. The rate moves with the machine, its lifting capacity and lift height, any attachments, and how long you keep it: longer hires cost less per week. Short-term hire covers a peak, a project or a truck off the road, and emergency hire is there for the day something has gone wrong.

Regular customers can put the machine, its servicing and its statutory inspections together as a contract, in one monthly payment with cover if the truck is off the road. Fleet management extends that across several sites.

If hire stops making sense, we sell new and used machines and take part exchange on your old truck, working or not. All prices are ex VAT.

Telford factories often bring in extra trucks for a new production contract or a stock build, while contract hire suits the trucks that work every shift all year. Because each delivery comes from Rugby, putting two or three machines on one booking keeps the transport cost per machine down.

In Telford, hiring instead of buying outright means the weekly rate covers servicing and breakdown repairs for the whole hire and trucks can be added or returned as production changes, and our hire or buy breakdown compares the costs.

The Rugby centre behind your Telford hire

The Midlands Service Centre at Unit 15 Paynes Lane Industrial Estate, Rugby, is one of Acclaim's eight regional centres, with engineers working across the West Midlands and beyond. Acclaim dates from 1982 and remains independent, which keeps the advice on a Telford hire tied to the work rather than to one maker. We are an exclusive dealer for STILL, Hyundai and Lonking, and we also supply Flexi articulated trucks, Genie access equipment and Kärcher cleaning machinery.

The centre's daily work is large sites, high racking and long shifts, where a machine standing idle costs money. A Telford factory running two shifts gets the same approach: one team for hire, servicing and training, with new and used trucks for sale when a hired machine becomes a permanent need.

  • Independent since 1982
  • 8 UK service centres
  • 3,500 machines maintained
  • 92% of callouts fixed first time
  • Engineers averaging 10 years with us

    FAQ's

Our Midlands Service Centre at Rugby is about 67 miles from Telford by road, along the M6 and the M54. Because machines travel on our own transport, the more notice you give, the easier it is to fit the delivery to your start date.

Ring 01788 560 534 and the Rugby team will tell you what can be arranged for your dates. If a truck of your own has stopped, emergency hire is the place to start, and the breakdown callout line runs 24/7.

Usually electric counterbalance trucks or powered pallet trucks, which run quietly and produce no exhaust. Give us the weight of a pallet, how high it lifts and what the floor is like, and we will tell you the machine type.

Yes. Halesfield, Stafford Park, Hortonwood, Hadley Park, Tweedale, T54 and Donnington are all served by our Midlands Service Centre, on our own transport along the M54.

Yes, and on a run from Rugby it is worth planning. The cost of moving each machine falls when they share a lorry, so add an access platform or a scrubber dryer to the forklift booking and they arrive together.

Yes. We book the thorough examination on hired trucks at the statutory intervals, and when it shares a visit with a service you get both records together. On trucks you own the duty sits with whoever controls the equipment, and we can carry it out and keep the schedule for you.
