How Acclaim Handling Supported Long Man Brewery with Cost-Effective Pallet Handling

Long Man Brewery required replacement of manual pallet handling equipment for its day-to-day brewery operations. Lewis Trigg, web sales manager, considered the impact of wet and external areas and supplied three cost-effective manual pallet trucks with complimentary Long Man Brewery branding.

About the Client

Long Man Brewery is an independent brewery producing a range of cask and keg beers from its Church Farm site in Litlington. Brewing has taken place from its historic flint barn since 2012. The brewery grows around 500 acres of spring malting barley on the surrounding Church Farm using regenerative farming techniques.

The Challenge

Long Man Brewery required three manual pallet trucks for its ongoing material handling requirements; with its growing operational demand they needed reliable equipment to help run operations smoothly. They needed to find equipment with the correct specifications and within budget.

Our Assessment

Lewis Trigg consulted with the Long Man Brewery and reviewed the working environment with videos and photos highlighting both an outside handling area and a wetter internal working area. Stainless-steel pallet trucks were recommended as the preferred option where regular exposure to water was expected, but budget and expected replacement intervals were also considered.

Our Solution

After discussing both approaches with the customer, Long Man Brewery decided that the lower-cost standard pallet truck represented the best solution for its current requirements and budget. Lewis Trigg supplied three Liftruck PMPT Pallet Mover Pallet Trucks, each with a 2,500KG capacity and 1150 x 550mm forks. As an additional personal touch, all three pallet trucks were supplied with Long Man Brewery’s own company logo applied free of charge.

Why This Solution Was Recommended

The standard Liftruck PMPT provided a straightforward, robust manual handling solution for moving standard Euro pallets and palletised goods around warehouse environments. The solution matched Long Man Brewery’s preferred approach of keeping the initial investment lower and replacing equipment periodically where necessary.

Training & Ongoing Support

Maintenance agreement was formed part of this order; this ensures the equipment remains compliant and reliable for day-to-day operations. This helps with workplace safety by maintaining the equipment to the required standard, minimising safety risks associated with poorly maintained equipment.

Success Factors + Outcomes

  • Simple and cost-effective solution for everyday pallet handling
  • Equipment selected to reflect the brewery’s wet and external working conditions
  • Lower initial-cost approach aligned with the customer’s preferred replacement strategy
  • Three pallet trucks supplied with Long Man Brewery branding
  • Post-delivery feedback confirmed the equipment was working successfully

“Equipment working as expected, the service was good thank you.”

Tom O’Neill – Director, Long Man Brewery
