Dry ice blasters are available on hire; ask us which models are available now. These are the Kärcher machines we supply as an authorised Kärcher dealer.

- 15 to 50 kg/h from a 15 kg ice container
- Suits an in-house compressed-air network
- Ice quantity and air pressure set at the gun
Kärcher IB 15/120
Best for intensive, heavy-duty blasting on large jobs.

What dry ice blasting is used for
Cleaning where water, chemicals or grit are not an option
A dry ice blaster fires pellets of frozen CO₂ in a compressed-air jet. The cold cracks the dirt, the ice lifts it off and turns back into gas.
No secondary waste
Nothing is left to collect but the contamination you removed, unlike grit, soda or water blasting.
Electrics and tooling
Dry ice is non conductive and non abrasive, so it is used on control panels, motors and tooling that could not be grit blasted.
Often no dismantling
In a lot of cases the machine or the line does not have to come apart first, and that is usually where the time is saved.
Blasting raises the CO₂ level in the air, so the work area needs good ventilation and cordoning off, and operators wear goggles, gloves, long sleeves and hearing protection.

How dry ice blaster hire works
| Hire terms | |
|---|---|
| Minimum hire period | None. A machine can be hired for a day. |
| Minimum charge | One week at the weekly rate. |
| Supplied with the machine | Ask us what is supplied. We confirm the supply arrangements alongside the machine. |
| Contract | None on a short term hire. Extend the hire if the job runs on. |
| If a machine stops | You get your money back, and we send an engineer out to fix it. |
| Delivery | Nationwide from eight depots, on our own transport. Transport is charged separately and depends on where you are. |
| Longer term | Lease purchase, contract hire or operating lease, on new and used machines. See leasing and contract hire. |
If a hire runs on and starts to look permanent, we will say so, because past a certain number of months a longer agreement or buying is usually cheaper.
