Two ways to train in Cumbria

On your site

Our instructor comes to you

For Cumbria employers, on-site training is usually the better choice: no travel, and every operator trained on the machine and in the space they use day to day.

Before we come out, check you have the equipment the course covers, an area set aside with racking and bulk stacking to train in, and a quiet space for the theory. We can talk you through any of it.

How to book forklift training in Cumbria

  1. Tell us the truck, how many operators, and their experience. Those three things decide whether it is a novice, refresher or conversion course, and how many days it takes.
  2. Choose where it runs. For a business, that can be on your own site anywhere in Cumbria, or places on a course at our Purfleet training centre. If you are booking for yourself rather than through an employer, you train at one of our three centres.
  3. We confirm the length and the total before anything is booked. Every course ends in nationally recognised certification.

Do operators in Cumbria need a forklift licence?

"Forklift licence" is how most people in Cumbria search for this, and it is worth knowing what the law actually asks for. UK law does not issue a forklift licence. It puts the duty on the employer: operators must be trained, assessed and authorised, and an accredited training certificate is the evidence that they were. Our guide to the forklift licence sets out exactly what is required, and am I legally liable? covers where the responsibility sits. On a reach truck, the reach truck licence course page gives the course lengths and prices.
