Not sure which machine you need?
Machine finderThe two types of pallet stacker
Semi-electric stackers lift on battery power but are pushed by hand. They take the effort out of lifting when the distances travelled are short.
Fully powered stackers drive and lift electrically and are the choice for regular, all-day use. This is where most of our range sits:
- Pedestrian stackers, walked behind on a tiller arm, for single-shift work in tight spaces, from about 1,000 kg to 2,000 kg.
- Platform stackers, with a fold-down platform so the operator can ride on longer runs between the dock and the racking.
- Initial-lift and double stackers, which raise one pallet on the support arms and a second on the forks, so two pallets move together in loading and unloading work.
- Straddle and counterbalanced stackers, for closed or Euro pallets, or loads that the support arms of a standard stacker cannot reach under.
Lift heights and capacities
Compact stackers lift to around 1,600 mm for low racking and vehicle loading. Mid-range machines reach 3,000 to 4,500 mm, and the tallest pedestrian stackers in our range lift to around 6,000 mm.
Rated capacities run from about 600 kg on counterbalanced models to 2,000 kg on the heaviest pedestrian stackers. Every rated capacity falls as the lift height rises, so tell us your heaviest load and your top beam height and we will match the stacker to both.
Where a stacker fits, and where it doesn't
A stacker is the right machine for lifting to racking in aisles too narrow for a counterbalance forklift, and for moderate volumes over short distances. Long outdoor runs, rough ground, heavy loads at height, or several shifts a day of continuous lifting usually point to a reach truck or a counterbalance forklift instead. If you only need to move pallets at floor level, a powered pallet truck is the simpler choice.
