Forklift Engineer Apprentice Scheme
Acclaim Handling has run a Forklift engineer apprentice scheme since 1990. To our knowledge we are the only independent forklift company in the UK that has offered such a scheme for over 20 years.
We congratulate our latest success story, Brendon Watkins who graduated in January 2015 with an ‘Advanced Level Apprentiship in Lift Truck – in the Apprentiship sector for occupations in the automotive industry (also includes vehicle maintenance & repair, vehicle sales, vehicle body & paint, vehicle fitting and vehicle parts) from The Institute of the Motor Industry.
Forklift Engineer Apprentice
Acclaim’s Forklift Engineer Apprentice Scheme was originally pioneered by our former Workshop Manager’s, Nick Griffiths (now Compliance Manager) and Rik Anderson (now Master Technician). Today, our forklift engineer apprentice scheme is managed by Andy Radbourne, a former apprentice himself who advanced through the ranks and is now Acclaim Handling’s Group Fleet Manager. Nick Griffiths is also still very much involved with the progression of our Forklift Engineer Apprentice Scheme.
Each of our Apprentice graduates have undertaken a rigorous three year course which involves a mix of college attendance outside of the workplace and on-the-job training within the workplace. In Brendan’s case he was supported and mentored by one of our most experienced engineers, Nick De’Ath who’s been with Acclaim for more than 20 years.
Brendan follows in the footsteps of our previous great successes that have been with us for a considerable number of years:-
- Mr Andrew Radbourne
- Mr Michael Radbourne
- Mr Robin Kench
- Mr Kevin Archer
- Mr Chris Dunn
We are actively recruiting for both qualified engineers and potential apprentices that can follow in the footsteps of our esteemed team above.
“As Chief Executive David Woods says: “Of all the aspects of our business I am most proud of the Acclaim Apprenticeship Scheme”
