Two ways to train in Peterborough

On your site

Our instructor comes to you

For Peterborough employers, on-site training is usually the better choice: no travel, and every operator trained on the machine and in the space they use day to day.

You will need three things in place: the appropriate equipment, a designated training area with racking and bulk stacking, and somewhere suitable for the theory part of the course. If you are not sure your site qualifies, we will talk it through.

Scheduled courses run at our three RTITB accredited centres through the year, and each centre's accreditation certificate is published on the course pages. Our Chatham training centre also runs courses, if its dates suit you better.

Do operators in Peterborough need a forklift licence?

"Forklift licence" is how most people in Peterborough search for this, and it is worth knowing what the law actually asks for. Strictly, no such licence exists. Employers have to make sure every operator is trained, assessed and authorised, and the certificate from an accredited course is the record of it. Our guide to the forklift licence sets out exactly what is required, and am I legally liable? covers where the responsibility sits. On a reach truck, the reach truck licence course page gives the course lengths and prices.
