RTITB accredited training for every truck on your site
Acclaim Handling runs RTITB accredited equipment training for operators at every level, from candidates who have never sat on a truck through to experienced drivers adding a new machine to their certification. Courses run at our accredited training centres in Purfleet in Essex, Chatham in Kent and Cosham in Portsmouth.
We also deliver training at your own premises anywhere in the UK. That is often the more useful option, because your operators learn on the trucks, racking and site layout they work with every day, and you keep them on site rather than sending them away. Every course ends in full, nationally recognised certification.

Choose the right course for each operator
Every equipment course listed above is available on three routes. If you are not sure which one an operator needs, tell us the machine and their experience and we will confirm it.
Novice
For candidates with no previous experience. Practical instruction on driving, manoeuvring, battery care, stacking and safe operation, followed by assessment and certification.
Refresher
For operators who already hold certification and are due to have their skills and knowledge brought back up to date.
Conversion
For trained operators moving onto a different type of truck, so the new machine can be added to what they are certified to drive.
About our equipment training
Quality equipment training is critical. It ensures that your working environment is safe and that your machinery operates efficiently. Acclaim Handling provides training at all skill levels with full certification. Forklift Truck Training can take place at our Accredited Training Centres in Purfleet, Essex, Chatham, Kent, or Cosham, Portsmouth. It is also available nationwide providing you have the necessary facilities at your own premises. We require the appropriate equipment, a designated training area with racking and bulk stacking facilities and a suitable area for theory training. We train a wide range of people all over the UK, so would be delighted to discuss your options.
Who equipment training is for
We train a wide range of people right across the UK, from a single new starter to a full shift being brought up to standard together.
- New starters who have never operated a truck before
- Existing operators whose certification is due a refresher
- Operators moving onto a different truck type
- Warehouse, distribution and logistics teams
- Manufacturing and production sites
- Construction and plant teams using telehandlers and access equipment
- Employers who need documented evidence of operator training
Where your training takes place
At our accredited centres. Purfleet in Essex, Chatham in Kent and Cosham in Portsmouth.
At your premises, UK wide. To host a course on your own site you need the appropriate equipment, a designated training area with racking and bulk stacking facilities, and a suitable area for the theory part of the course.

Discuss your trainingWhy train with an RTITB accredited centre
RTITB accredited
We hold RTITB accreditation for driver training, and the certificates for each centre are published below so you can check them yourself.
Training on your own trucks
When we train at your premises, operators learn on the equipment, racking and layout they actually work with, which is what makes the training stick.
Every skill level
Novice, refresher and conversion routes across fourteen equipment courses, so an entire team can be brought up to standard together.
Full certification
Courses end in nationally recognised certification, giving you documented evidence of training and assessment.
Equipment Training questions
Do I need previous experience to take a course?
No. Our novice courses are built for candidates with no previous experience. You are trained to drive and maintain the truck, look after the battery, stack pallets and work safely in the space around you, then assessed at the end of the course.
How much does equipment training cost?
Forklift training starts from £360 + VAT per day. The total depends on the course, the number of candidates and where the training runs, so the quickest way to get an exact figure is to tell us the truck type and how many operators you need trained.
What do we need in place to host training at our own site?
Three things: the appropriate equipment, a designated training area with racking and bulk stacking facilities, and a suitable area for the theory part of the course. If you are not sure whether your site qualifies, our team will talk it through with you.
What is the difference between a novice, refresher and conversion course?
A novice course takes a candidate with no previous experience through to certification. A refresher brings an already certified operator back up to date. A conversion adds a different type of truck for an operator who is already trained. Tell us the operator and the machine and we will confirm the right route.
Where does the training take place?
You have two options. Training runs at our accredited training centres in Purfleet in Essex, Chatham in Kent and Cosham in Portsmouth, or we come to your premises anywhere in the UK.
Is the certification recognised?
Yes. We are an RTITB accredited training provider and our courses end in full, nationally recognised certification, so you have documented evidence of training and assessment for your own records.
