The RX70 at a glance
STILL’s RX70 puts a diesel or LPG engine in front of an electric drive: the engine turns a generator, and electric motors move the truck. The range comes in three classes, 2.0 to 3.5 tonnes, 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes and 6.0 to 8.0 tonnes, and earlier RX70s from 1.6 tonnes turn up in used stock.

Specification
Three sizes of RX70
- 2.0 to 3.5 t: a 2.4 litre engine, 45 kW on diesel or 36 kW on LPG, meeting EU Stage V. Lift heights to 7,390 mm.
- 4.0 to 5.0 t: a 2.9 litre Deutz diesel of 54 kW, lifting to 7,180 mm.
- 6.0 to 8.0 t: a 4.1 litre Deutz diesel of 80 kW, with an 8 tonne version rated at a 900 mm load centre for long loads.
The model number gives the capacity in hundreds of kilograms, so an RX 70-35 carries 3,500 kg.

Why the diesel-electric drive matters
With no torque converter or hydrostatic transmission to maintain, the drive is simple and smooth, and STILL’s Blue-Q mode trims fuel use. Every RX70 has five driving programmes, so the same truck can be set gentle for a new driver or quick for an experienced one.
Who buys one
Builders’ merchants, timber and steel yards, and manufacturers loading lorries all day. The larger classes are what you need when the load is a coil, a bundle of steel or a packed stillage rather than a standard pallet.
Looking at a used RX70
Each used RX70 listed here is one truck, and our engineers inspect every one before sale. Ask about its service record. On a diesel, check that the particle filter has been serviced on schedule. On either fuel, look for even tension on the load chains and a clean underside with no leaks. A truck that has stood idle for months needs a proper check before it goes back to work.
